More information about the Dahabiya

Our Boat is based on the original design of the late 18th & 19th century Dahabiyas, the heart of this traditional two masted sailing boat is the stunning wooden upper deck. It’s the perfect place to relax and watch the Incredible sites of the Nile, it also gives us a perfect

space to receive our Mediations, Sound Healing and Ceremonies.

Below deck is our private Rooms all with air conditioning, bathroom, shower facilities and two large windows which offer views of the ancient sites, villages, and breathtaking scenery.  They comfortably fit two guests, but if you are wanting downtime and your own space we advise to book under single occupancy.

All meals are prepared on board by our Egyptian team serving delicious fresh cuisine on the top deck.

It is worth noting for those who aren’t familiar with these boats they are working sailing boats, and you will hear the occasional crew member and tugboat going by.

Sometimes depending on how long we spend at destinations we may be required to sail through the night. Our Egyptian team are dedicated to making our trip as smooth as possible.

The Dahabiya has two sailing Masts and where possible the sails are used however as with all these style boats on the Nile, they have an accompanying Tugboat to pull the boat when needed.

We choose to use these boats instead of the larger cruise style boats as they give a much more intimate and relaxed experience as well as being able to get us into some beautiful secret spots along the Nile.
